This is a Moroccan fruit salad that is wonderful for winter time. In Madrid, we now get plenty of wonderful oranges from Andalusia, and we also have lots of walnuts and pomegranates.
If you can get your hands on quality fruits grown without chemicals, you will really enjoy this dessert. It is very sweet, with subtle flavors, and the kids will also enjoy it.
Serves 4 – Prep. time 20 mn.
2 Fuji apples
1 pomegranate
juice of 5 oranges
1.8 oz (50g) walnut halves
2 tbsp orange blossom water
Peel the apples and grate them.
Peel the pomegranate and put arils in a small bowl.
Squeeze the oranges.
Mix together all the ingredients and leave to marinate for about 30 minutes in the fridge prior to serving. Don’t let the salad for more time in the fridge or it will be too cold and you won’t be able to enjoy the flavors as much.
